Vice President of Acquirer Processing
Hubert O’Donoghue is responsible for First Data’s EMEA merchant processing solution platforms, which process over 3 billion transactions annually, as well as First Data’s global Dynamic Currency Conversion business.
A highly experienced payment industry professional, Hubert has held senior strategic roles in large international organisations for more than 20 years. His skill set combines a unique combination of technical, operational and business skills, which has seen him manage major Global IT initiatives with organisations including Wells Fargo, Chase Paymentech, Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, Lloyds TSB, HSB.
Prior to joining First Data, Hubert co-founded OmniPay Ltd in 2000. Under his leadership of the IT Organisation a transaction management platform was built which positioned OmniPay to offer global support for ecommerce transaction processing. The unique design of the platform soon gave the company a leadership position in the market attracting First Data Corporation to acquire a majority interest in the company in 2002 (First Data acquired the remaining equity in 2012 bringing its shareholding to 100%). Today OmniPay supports 39 acquirers with merchants in 78 markets transacting in over 150 currencies.
